In October 2023, Sherrie is our employee spotlight! Sherrie has been with Sky Point Social Services since July 2020 serving as a Direct Support Professional(DSP). When asked what she enjoys the most about working at Sky Point, she didn't hesitate in replying, “The people!”. She also stated Sky Point “makes you feel welcomed. Especially, Francis and Dana, they make you feel so appreciated!” Sherrie and her family enjoy participating in the Sky Point events.
Sherrie was born in Germany as her father was in the military service. When she was 5 years old, they moved to California. Then when she was 9 years old, she moved to Grabill, Indiana where she spent her youth. She has also lived in Ohio and Oklahoma. Then she finally settled in the Fort Wayne area. Sherrie and her husband, Todd, just celebrated their 27 years of marriage. They met through work; Sherrie went up to him and started talking and the rest is history. They have 1 son, 2 daughters, and 1 grandson.
For fun, she enjoys to ”read, garden, travel, and baking from scratch.” People enjoy her sugar cookies the best! Sherrie has traveled to 37 states and 5 different countries. Her dream vacation would be to travel back to Nuremberg, Germany with her family. She would “go visit the town including the castle, the dark beer, food, and Christmas markets.” Sherrie loves talking to people! If you see her in the community, make sure to say hello to her!
